Drs. Michael and Bernita Mitchell are Founders and Senior Pastors of Restoration Ministries International (RMI) Christian Fellowship in Augusta and Atlanta, Georgia, a family oriented, multi-racial, Christ-centered ministry that is restoring lives in every area of life, as they build a people of Destiny, Purpose, Power, and Praise.
Equipped with the knowledge and experience of more than 20 years of training as leaders in various ministries, they have developed an in-depth knowledge of the Word of God, are exceptional teachers, and flow in the Spirit with consistency and accuracy. They live principle-centered lives based on the word of God and as a result He has tremendously blessed them as a demonstration of His faithfulness to those who seek to please Him in all their ways.
Dr. Michael Mitchell is Founder and Senior Pastor of Restoration Ministries International (RMI) Christian Fellowship, in Augusta and Atlanta, Georgia, a family oriented, multi-racial, Christ-centered ministry that is restoring lives in every area of life, as they build a people of Destiny--Purpose, Power, and Praise.
With more than 20 years of training in ministry as a leader, he has developed an in-depth knowledge of the Word of God, and sound maturity in the flow of the Spirit. His training and experience in the military as a Major in the Signal Corps, Communication and Automation Career Field, greatly compliments his God given wisdom and leadership abilities.
RMI officially began as a Church in an elementary school in Augusta, Georgia in January,1997, with only eight members in attendance. Under his leadership the ministry has grown rapidly in membership, finances, and assets, acquiring real estate totaling over 60 acres of land, inclusive of a 10 acres lake. The main campus consists of 29 acres, and Lake Restore which consists of 31 acres, inclusive of a 10 acre lake. In 2002, the ministry dedicated a 17,000 square foot Family Life and Worship Center where it currently holds three weekly services. RMI recently started its second location in the Atlanta Metro area (RMI - Atlanta), meeting each Sunday morning in Decatur, Georgia.
The ministry continues to grow with the current construction of its 30,000 sq. ft. Family Life Center, affectionately called the 5F Center (Faith, Fun, Fitness, Flair, and Fellowship) which will house a new Sanctuary, Gym, Bookstore, Teen Center, Beauty Salon & Barber Shop, Exercise & Fitness Facility, and much, much more. The 5F Center is scheduled for completion in 2006.
Dr. Mitchell ministers on Restoring Your World Television Broadcast, an outreach of Michael Mitchell Ministries, which airs nationally and internationally on the WORD Network and Faith Vision Network, and locally and regionally on television stations and cable channels such as WATC TV-57 Atlanta, WBPI TV-49 Augusta, UPN, Comcast, and many others.
Dr. Mitchell also provides spiritual oversight and covering to several churches and ministries. His focus is to help people “discover their destiny,” and determine the answer to "why they were born?" He is used mightily in the gifts of the Spirit to identify, confirm, and encourage people to fulfill their God given purpose for their lives. Dr. Mitchell believes there is a winner inside of every person. His aim is to see them discover the winner on the inside so they can win in life.
He holds a Doctorate Degree in Ministry, Master Degrees in Human Resource Development and Management; Bachelor Degrees in Biblical Studies and Business Administration; and an Associate Degree in Education.
He is a loving and compassionate husband and father to his wife of 19 years, the lovely Sherrye Bernita, and their four adorable children.
Dr. Bernita Mitchell was born again and filled with the Spirit at the early age of nine. Since growing up as a child of parents in full-time ministry, she is equipped with much knowledge, insight and experience in the Church.
Along with the multiple roles she has in ministry, Dr. Bernita is Associate Pastor and Executive Director of Restoration Ministries International. Also, she is founder of “Daughters of Sarah” women’s ministry and the “Incredible and Phenomenal Woman” women’s conference. She holds a Doctorate Degree in Ministry, a Master Degree in Sacred Music, and a Bachelor Degree in Biblical Studies.
Dr. Bernita is the wife of Dr. Michael Mitchell, Pastor and Founder of Restoration Ministries International. They are a dynamic and unique team designed to help people discover their destiny and purpose in life. She is the mother of four children, Michael II, Mikelden, Michelza, and Mickebron.
